Life Mastery Path of Transformation With Ben

Every Business Is A Reflection Of The Person Leading It.

People are inspired less by what you say, and far more by who you choose to become.

True leadership is not about authority.
It's about principles, integrity, and presence.

business noun

the activity of making, buying, or selling goods or providing services in exchange for money

The dictionary defines what business does.
But it doesn’t tell us what a business truly is.

A business is a living expression of people, principles, intentions, relationships, ideas, and actions, coming together to create genuine value for others.

Dr. Ben Shomer

Have we been trying to change the wrong thing?

It's only natural that every business strives to become more effective, efficient, and profitable.
In short - to achieve better results.

We all know the saying:
"Do the same things. Get the same results."

But, what should we change?

Businesses focus on improving:

These are all valuable expressions of a business.
Yet those changes don't always produce the results we expect.
Even after enormous investments of time, energy, and money.

This leaves an open question:

"What if we've been building from the top down instead of from the ground up?"

Real transformation begins at the source of our choices.

What then, is the true core of a business?

Every business has one.

Every interaction tells a story.

People think they're interacting with a person.
A salesperson.
A receptionist.
A technician.
A customer service representative.

But something deeper is happening.

When a customer leaves delighted...

they rarely say, "Sarah was wonderful."
They say, "I love this company."

And when they leave disappointed...

they don't simply blame the representative.
They say, "That business doesn't care."

Without realizing it...

we instinctively attribute every interaction to the business itself.

Yet a business cannot speak. It has no voice of its own.
It has no patience. No smile. No conscience.

Every conversation...
every email...
every product...
every decision...

is carried by people.
People become the living expression of the business identity.

If every interaction expresses the business...
what is it actually expressing?

Where does that identity come from?

Businesses don't build trust.
People do.

Businesses don't demonstrate integrity.
People do.

Businesses don't inspire loyalty.
People do.

And eventually...

Every business reveals the character, principles, and presence of the people leading it.

A Web of Reflections.

Every business or organization, no matter how large, has an invisible web.

Every node of this web, from the center, to the furthest edges of the organization, is a person. It's a web of human relationships.

Accross this web, something is constantly being exchanged in both directions.

Messages, verbal and non-verbal, are communicated from the center to the furthest nodes, to every person, and from them, back to the center.

This web connects far beyond members of the organization. It also includes their family members, customers, communities, and more.

Those messages may comprise

But they may also represent

They are the set of human behaviors, affecting the organization, whether made by a CEO or a receptionist.

These signals are an expression of the real core of the business.

Just as a healthy body responds to pain, a healthy organization responds to the signals coming from its people.

The true success of a business is shaped by the principles of those creating its vision and making its most important choices.

A Lesson From the Sea.

In memory of Ron Gilad, a skipper, a lover, a friend.

Setting Sails...

Years ago, before he passed away, we used to sail a yacht with our good friend Ron.

Ron was an experienced skipper and a dear friend.

With Ron, sailing was about connection, friendship, and love.
One winter night I sailed with Ron. We headed towards the open waters in a relatively unstable weather.

The Storm.

When we statred heading back to shore, a storm caught us. High waves hit the yacht.

In memory of Ron Gilad, a skipper, a lover, a friend.

Ron asked me to hold the steering wheel, while he secured the yacht.

He said "At the entrance to the marina, there's a lighthouse with alternating red and green lights. Keep steering towards the lights, no matter what."

A few moments later, the GPS shut off.

The yacht swept off course by the wind and tides.

I heard Ron's deep voice calling.

"Just keep your eyes on the lights!"

The waves hid the lights, and I could see them only when the yacht was on top of a wave. It was enough to keep me on course.

The closer the lights became, the safer I felt.

Eventually, we entered the marina and brought the yacht to safety.

That journey with its impressions remained etched in my memory.
I have never forgotten Ron's words.

A Sea Without Storms...

Ah, what a utopia...

We all know, there will always be storms, winds, and tides at sea.
Not every day, but they are always expected.

Would anyone imagine running a business without storms?
Unlikely.
Every business experiences winds, tides and storms.

This is simply a part of life itself.

As I often say to my mentees - "The great river of life always carries rocks and logs. Sometimes, one of them hits us."

The question is not whether the storms will come. They will.

It's how you navigate through them.

Will you hold the steering wheel? Will you look at the waves or at the lights? Will you keep the direction in your mind's eye, even when the waves hide the light?

It's that clarity within that keeps calmness and trust through storming waters.
The clarity in one's inner light.

It allows us to surrender to uncertainty, knowing and feeling we can navigate the unknown.
It provides the confidence that we'll reach a safe shore.

When you experience that clarity, trust it, something changes in the people around you.

They feel safe to hold the wheel and navigate with you.

They too, don't look at the waves, but to the horizon.
They can see your lights.

Following someone who knows what truly matters is deeply reassuring.
And there is confidence, wholeness and true strength when becoming that kind of person.

You find and hold your peaceful center...
and from it, you keep your course through the storm.

When your inner lights become clear...

You lead with confidence.

You make your own grounded, unshakable choices.

You recognize opportunities with greater clarity,
and choose those that truly align with your principles
and the benefit of your organization.

You set priorities with greater clarity.

People feel trusted. They feel seen. They feel safe to take responsibility.

Trust grows naturally.

Difficult conversations become clearer.

The business becomes more aligned...

because you become more aligned.

The Becoming.

Before becoming a leader,
you choose to become one.

You gain a deep sense of both feet on the ground, and a clear inner knowing of who you are - your preferences, your wants, and your needs.
You experience genuine inner freedom, and express yourself clearly, even without words.

Everyone feels your presence.

Your choices are anchored in your principles and core values.
You stand behind them with a quiet conviction.
You build your vision with clarity and confidence.
And your vision gives direction to every meaningful choice.

Your environment senses this, even without words.

People feel trusted.

Leadership becomes focused on creating the conditions for others to thrive.
Identifying the right person and delegating responsibilities becomes a natural and esay expression of true leadership.
That trust travels throughout the entire web of the organization.

Grounded in that presence, you recognize the best opportunities.
And when they appear, you identify what truly matters, and set priorities with greater clarity.

When others express different perspectives, you consider them as opportunities for enhancing your vision.
Confidence and clarity allow you to swiftly change direction when the need becomes clear.

Eventually, your vision is carried by many.

You're surrounded by those who share your principles, values and vision, by a conscious choice, sense of belonging and commitment.

A community, united by a vision they truly believe in.
